Lensiora HD Software User Manual

Support · Time to read: 6 minutes · Updated May 23, 2026
This manual explains the current Lensiora HD software controls used to capture images and integrate the camera with dental imaging applications. Lensiora can capture through the camera button, optional voice commands, optional foot pedal commands, or timed Auto Take when using the Lensiora TWAIN capture window.

1. Overview

This manual explains the current Lensiora HD software controls used to capture images and integrate the camera with dental imaging applications. Lensiora can capture through the camera button, optional voice commands, optional foot pedal commands, or timed Auto Take when using the Lensiora TWAIN capture window.

Input methods for image capture

  • Camera button commands. Use the button on the Lensiora Intraoral Camera to start capture actions and take snapshots.
  • Voice commands. When a microphone and Lensiora speech support are available, voice commands can trigger image capture and completion actions during a video stream.
  • Foot pedal commands. A compatible foot pedal can be assigned actions such as capture, finalize, or cancel.
  • Auto Take. In TWAIN workflows, Lensiora can automatically take images at a selected interval.

2. Accessing Lensiora Software Options

Configuration and status information are managed from the Lensiora Software Status Dialog. Open it from the Lensiora icon in the Windows System Tray. Lensiora icon identification. The system tray icon resembles a yellow digital camera. A dark center indicates that the camera is connected and recognized. A red center indicates that the camera is not currently detected.

Status Dialog tabs

The Status Dialog now uses tabs:
  • Status Info. Shows the active imaging software integration, camera status, warnings, optional speech controls, optional plugin options, and foot pedal status when available.
  • Other options. Provides day-to-day camera settings such as snapshot sound, Camera Adjustments, and Auto Take.
  • StillVue IQ. Controls multi-frame best-shot selection and related capture-quality options.
  • Foot Pedal Options. Appears when a foot pedal is installed and allows button-action configuration.

3. Status Info Section Summary

The Status Info tab gives a quick view of the active Lensiora setup and exposes controls that are only useful when the related feature is available.

Voice Recognition

The Speech Config button opens the Speech Configuration dialog. This dialog is used to enable or disable speech recognition and tune how commands are detected.

  • Speech component enabled. Turns the speech-recognition component on or off.
  • Audio Input. Selects the microphone input when multiple audio inputs are available.
  • Volume. Adjusts microphone sensitivity and shows the current input level.
  • Accuracy. Sets how strict command recognition should be. Higher values require clearer commands and lower background noise.
  • Commands. Lets you customize the Save Image command and the Complete Image Capture command. The standard commands are SAVE! and DONE!.
  • Restore Defaults. Restores the default speech volume, accuracy, and command settings.

Plugin Options for Imaging Software

The Plugin Options button is shown only when the active imaging integration supports additional settings. Use this button when a specific dental imaging program has Lensiora-specific options to adjust.

4. Other Options Section Overview

The Other options tab contains the common settings that affect capture behavior.

  • Disable snapshot sound. Turns off the snapshot sound that normally plays when an image is captured. Leave it unchecked if you want audible feedback after pressing the camera button.
  • Camera Adjustments. Opens the Camera Configuration window. This window shows live video, provides an Adjust Image button for camera/video properties, and lists the supported camera resolutions.
  • Supported Resolutions. Choose your preferred camera resolution and click Save and Exit. Lensiora recommends selecting the highest available resolution for the best image quality. Lower resolutions can create smaller files and may be useful for compatibility.
  • Auto Take every. Enables automatic TWAIN image capture at the selected interval. The interval can be entered in seconds or adjusted with the spinner. The software defaults to 2.0 seconds when no previous value is saved.
Note
Some camera features are resolution-dependent. On Lensiora HD, the Zoom button is available only at the lowest 640 × 480 resolution.

5. StillVue IQ Options

The StillVue IQ tab controls Lensiora’s multi-frame best-shot selection. When enabled, Lensiora looks at frames from just before the snapshot command and selects the clearest frame for capture.
  • Enable StillVue IQ. Turns on multi-frame best-shot selection.
  • Selection window. Sets how far back before the snapshot Lensiora searches for the clearest frame, in milliseconds.
  • Capture mode. Selects the StillVue IQ capture method. Best shot (sharpest frame) is the standard mode. Noise reduced (experimental) is available for testing when appropriate.
  • Scoring speed. Controls how much image data is used to score frames. High precision (1×, slowest) uses the most detail. Balanced (2×), Normal speed (4×), and Fastest (8×) trade precision for speed.
  • Training mode. Saves both a StillVue IQ image and a direct capture image for comparison. Only the StillVue IQ image is sent to the imaging software.
Tip
StillVue IQ can also be toggled per-session from the TWAIN capture window. See the StillVue IQ behavior section of the TWAIN manual.
