Lensiora Intraoral Camera for macOS – Native Support, All Dental Software
Lensiora now supports native camera-button capture on macOS with the Lensiora Mac helper. The system works with all macOS dental imaging software — including MacPractice (the most popular choice for Mac offices), and many others. A foot pedal remains available as an optional workflow choice, but it is no longer required as the main capture method.
How it works with your Mac dental software
The Lensiora Mac helper runs in the macOS menu bar and listens for the capture button on the Lensiora intraoral camera. When you press the camera button, the helper sends the configured capture shortcut to your active imaging software window.
This gives Mac offices a simple camera-button workflow on macOS while keeping your familiar imaging workflow — whether you use MacPractice, Dentrix, Open Dental, or any other Mac-based dental software.
- Camera-button capture: Use the capture button on the Lensiora camera instead of reaching for the keyboard or mouse.
- Works with all Mac software: Use your dental practice’s normal imaging workflow with any macOS-compatible software, then capture images from the Lensiora camera button.
- MacPractice integration: The helper is pre-configured to work seamlessly with MacPractice (the most popular imaging software for Mac practices), and can be customized for other platforms.
- Menu-bar status: The Lensiora Mac helper shows whether the camera is connected and can open its configuration and log folder.
- Foot pedal optional: A USB foot pedal can still be used if your office prefers it, but it is no longer the required Mac workflow.
Installation
The Mac helper is included with the Lensiora installation media. Open the Mac folder on the installation media and read the file inside that folder before running the installer.
The Mac update can also be found in your Lensiora.com account. If you do not already have a website account, register using any email address that was ever used to place a Lensiora order so the download can be associated with your purchase.
The file in the Mac folder explains the current install steps, including the macOS permission prompt that allows Lensiora to send the capture shortcut to your imaging software.
Using the camera with your software
After installation, open your imaging software as usual (MacPractice, Dentrix, Open Dental, or your preferred platform). Start the camera/video workflow, select the Lensiora camera if your software shows more than one video source, then press the capture button on the Lensiora camera to save images into your patient record.
